A café in Batumi is not only about drinks and delicious food. It is about a leisurely pace of life, about watching people pass by, about talking with friends and strangers at the next table; about the astringency of time, which is spilled around and freezes a little while you drink another coffee.

The best cafes in Batumi

Batumi cafes are a mixture of styles, sensations, smells, languages and tastes. Walking around the city, enjoying the diversity of the city, it is difficult to make a choice, and I will help you. In this selection are those cafes in which you want to stay longer. Those in which I have repeatedly visited myself, and for the service in which I can be responsible. Those where you will always be welcome and will make sure that you remember Batumi with notes of admiration and unfailing pleasure.

So, let’s go!

Coffeetopia

This coffee shop cannot go unnoticed, because it is located in the heart of the city, not far from the central entrance to the boulevard. From the veranda of Coffetopia you can see the busy life of Rustaveli Street: tall lovely palm trees along it, the Neptune Fountain and the drama theater. Life is always in full swing here and it is so great to sit at a table, without rushing anywhere, eating the most delicate baked soufflé or cheesecake.

Besides, Coffeetopia is a very old place, previously it was known as “Eastern Sweets”. An episode from the famous and beloved Soviet film “Love and Doves” was filmed here. And in this establishment you can feel the same atmosphere, as the interior of the coffee shop has hardly changed. Only the stained glass windows have been replaced.

Coffeetopia can please even the most sophisticated gourmets and coffee connoisseurs. Because here they serve very high-quality coffee products in a large assortment. The aroma of freshly ground coffee beans simply will not let you pass by. Breakfasts, sandwiches, various snacks and desserts are also present on the menu.

Lovita

Lovita cafe in Batumi is a real pink paradise for connoisseurs of beauty and exquisite cuisine. The interior is made in soft pastel colors with an abundance of flowers, mirrors, designer furniture. Here, every detail is thought out to create a fabulous atmosphere.

But the main thing at Lovita is the great food. The chef offers signature dishes of European and Asian cuisine with elegant presentation.

But Lovita’s surprises don’t end there. The main feature is the unique photo zones. Pink walls, a bathtub among flowers, neon inscriptions – here everyone will find the perfect background for a selfie on Instagram.

Opening hours: 10.00 – 22.00

Adress: st. Sherifa Khimshiashvili, 4

Dona

The Dona confectionery and cafe can easily be called the top place for those with a sweet tooth in Batumi. This is the place you definitely need to go. The dizzying smells of pastries, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon, spices and coffee will not let you pass by. Although the premises of the two Dona establishments are small, with only a few tables, they are very cozy.

What is not here: cakes, from very small to huge, various pastries, cupcakes, rolls, puff pastries, cookies, muffins, baklava, eclairs, baskets, jellies, mousses and desserts. All this is made from sponge, shortbread, curd and puff pastry. For fillings and decorations, Dona confectioners use fresh seasonal fruits, creamy, butter, custard creams, chocolate-cream ganache creams, banana, blueberry, strawberry and raspberry fillings.

Talented confectioners take into account all the preferences and tastes of their visitors and very often supplement and update their menu. Cakes of extraordinary beauty, simple and multi-tiered, with complex decorations from multi-colored confectionery mastic, marzipan and chocolate. You will not find a single identical product, each of them is an author’s work-masterpiece, a work of confectionery art.

It is impossible to go to Dona and leave empty-handed or not try at least something from the huge variety of delicacies in this cafe. The prices are very reasonable with high quality sweets.

This establishment is also known for the fact that their pastry chefs prepare cakes to order for various events for every taste and wish. A unique masterpiece cake for a wedding, christening, birthday or any other event is prepared here.

As for the service, due to the huge flow of people and endless queues, in Dona you will encounter self-service. The coffee and tea served here are very mediocre. But a great alternative would be fresh fruit compote.

A good solution when visiting Dona is to buy your favorite sweets to go. They will pack everything for you in special boxes. Almost all Dona customers do this. Free tables in the pastry shop are a rarity, plus the fuss, noise and long queue.

OTKHI cafe

This cozy cafe is located in the very center of the Old Town, just a minute’s walk from the Piazza. Outside, you will find two tables, an improvised bar counter, and a cute swing, which can also be found on the logo of this cafe.

There are 2 floors inside – on the first floor there are several tables, and on the second floor there are incredibly comfortable sofas, which are great for two or a large group. If you go deeper, you will find yourself in a souvenir shop.

As for coffee, the guys know a thing or two about choosing beans. They also own a small coffee shop called FoxCoffee on the same street, where, according to Spanish experts, they brew the best coffee in Batumi! Here, at OTKHI (which means “four” in Georgian), they can brew coffee in a cezve on the sand, make standard or signature coffee drinks.

The menu offers a variety of breakfasts (my recommendations are syrniki or vegetable omelette), which are served all day. There are salads, several soups, hot dishes and desserts. Zucchini pancakes with salmon deserve a special mention – this is an incredible taste combination that leaves an amazing aftertaste. Be sure to pay attention to the seasonal menu – there will always be interesting drinks and dishes.

But the most important advantage of OTKHI is the atmosphere. The owners have done everything to ensure that each guest comes here again and again. Which I do with pleasure and advise you to do)

RHINO

It is located on Akhvlediani Street, which you are unlikely to find on a spontaneous walk around the city. The cafe is located right next to the Adjara Museum, so it is very convenient to stop here for a cup of coffee after the museum. If the weather is good, you can take one of the two tables outside, and if it is raining, sit in the large rectangular hall.

There is a counter in front of panoramic windows, and about a dozen tables designed for 2 or 4 people, and a common area for coworking. By the way, yes, there are signs on the tables reminding you that you cannot sit at them with laptops during the working day.

The walls are decorated with stylish modern paintings, a strobe light is spinning under the ceiling, rhythmic music is playing from the speakers. But, the main thing, of course, is not the interior, but the kitchen! By the way, you can see it through the window, no one hides from you the mystery of cooking delicious dishes!

I would definitely include hashbrown, which is what they call potato pancakes in trendy European places. As you remember, “a toast can’t cost $8, but a crouton can”). It is served with an egg (fried or scrambled, your choice), salad and salmon.

In the reviews on Google Maps, you will find a fair amount of excitement about the delicious syrniki – apparently, several souls were sold to the devil for their recipe. There are very interesting sandwiches, porridge and many other dishes that are beautifully served.

You will not find Americano in the coffee menu, but instead there will be excellent filter coffee. My soul in this place belongs to hot chocolate – unsweetened and incredibly tasty! It is quite expensive, but worth the money. The cocoa is also very good.

Pay attention to the opening hours – this is one of the few cafes in Batumi where you can sit from early morning!

In general, the price tag of this establishment is noticeably higher than average. But here you will find decent service and an audience that is ready to overpay for it. And as you know, nothing changes us as much as the environment.

Opening hours: 8.30 – 21.00

Manufactory1993

This cafe is located on Lermontov Street, not far from the Dolphinarium and the 6th of May Park, so it’s great to pop in after a long walk.

At first glance, it doesn’t seem like there’s much space here – 4 tables and a common counter. But on the left, there’s a staircase leading up to the cozy second floor, where there are a few more tables.

The wall of the main hall is decorated with retro photographs of famous Georgian artists, and, in general, the atmosphere leaves a very pleasant impression. As soon as you sit down at a table, you will immediately be brought a decanter of lemon water, which you can enjoy while waiting for your order.

The first page of the menu may be a little confusing with a small number of breakfasts and main courses, but these are just seasonal dishes. The main ones are a little further – there is plenty to choose from!

For example, the omelette here is brought baked in a very interesting dish, served with avocado and a special sauce. I also recommend paying attention to the desserts – the bun is served here in an original cream, which greatly complements the taste of various coffee drinks.

And, yes, you shouldn’t think of this cafe as just a place for breakfast. This is indicated by both the wine list and the opening hours – you can come here for dinner and stay until midnight.

Opening hours: 10.00 – 00.00

Address: Lermontov, 21

It is worth noting that in 2025 a second cafe with the same name opened – almost on the edge of the city, behind Metro City, in a new quarter under construction. There is very little space inside, but there are tables outside. And the atmosphere of coziness and high quality service is still maintained.

Opening hours: 11.00 – 23.00

Address: Adlia, 1
