Coffee Line – a favorite cafe for breakfast in Tbilisi

In Tbilisi, I prefer to stay in Avlabari, where it’s quiet, close to the metro and the old town. There is always parking available (a challenge in the city center). There is also a cafe where I love to have breakfast. In Georgia, there is no breakfast culture, so finding a cozy place in Tbilisi to enjoy an early snack is a real discovery.

“Coffee Line” opens at 8 am and offers incredibly delicious coffee (only specialty blends) and a variety of dishes. I remember when there were only a couple of tables here, but over time, they expanded. Today, there are at least ten tables, and there is even a veranda. The cafe is located on a quiet street among trees, making dining in the fresh air especially pleasant.

Among other advantages are the absence of service charges and homemade desserts. When I am asked about the best place for breakfast in Tbilisi, I don’t hesitate to mention “Coffee Line.” They offer a variety of options to suit all tastes: eggs, porridge, sandwiches, bowls, and much more. I often go for the English version; I love the Benedict with salmon. But my favorites are the syrniki, served with a crispy crust and tender inside.

If you love brunch, then this is the place; they serve it until 6:00 PM. Even if there were no syrniki, I would come here for the coffee alone. As a former owner of a coffee shop in Batumi (recently sold), I know a thing or two about the varieties available on the market. With the baristas, we tried dozens of different ones until we settled on the specialty blend from Shavi. So when I saw that “Coffee Line” uses the same one, I was pleasantly surprised. I like how they serve lattes, cappuccinos, and raf.

The service at the cafe is excellent, the waitstaff is polite and attentive. The only downside is that sometimes the music played is not quite suitable for a morning meal, and occasionally, the dishes take a little longer to prepare than desired. In conclusion, it can be said that “Coffee Line” is an excellent cafe for breakfast in Tbilisi. Delicious coffee, beautiful presentation, friendly staff—all of this creates a cozy atmosphere and sets the tone for the beginning of a new day.

The Stairs

If you are in Tbilisi and looking for a place for a delicious and cozy breakfast, “The Stairs” is what you need. The establishment impresses with tasty dishes and an incredibly hospitable atmosphere.

Stairs cafe

Let’s start with the main attraction – the food. Shakshuka, toasts, cottage cheese bowl, and that’s not all! Don’t miss their croissants, orange cake, and madeleines that simply melt in your mouth. And the homemade fig jam is a separate love story. If you are a coffee lover, like me, you will also be pleased here. Enjoy both classics like Americano or cappuccino and alternatives like Aeropress or French press.

The prices are quite reasonable, which is rare for such quality. The cafe space itself is no less attractive, although it’s small in size. The spiral staircase, where you can sit with a hot drink, creates a special atmosphere, and the views of the city and the cathedral complete the picture. There’s even a house cat that greets guests—a cute addition to the overall coziness. The staff deserves a separate mention. Very friendly folks who make you feel like you’ve come for breakfast at the homes of good neighbors.

So, if you want to enjoy delicious homemade food, quality coffee, and relax in a cozy atmosphere in the morning, then “The Stairs” is the perfect choice.

Radiocafe

“Radiocafe” – a place that I can undoubtedly call my favorite restaurant in Tbilisi. They open only at 10 am, but this is a small detail easily forgiven when you find out that they serve breakfast all day.

In my childhood in Batumi, it was impossible to find a boat-shaped khachapuri after noon. It was a traditional and beloved breakfast for Batumi residents. But here, there’s a whole variety of “gastrokhachapuri” capable of satisfying even the most demanding gourmet.

Among other breakfast options on the menu are syrniki, toasts, bowls, so everyone will find something to their taste. As for coffee drinks, I must mention that they are excellent here. In hot summer days, I especially recommend trying Spanish cold coffee. By the way, this is the favorite coffee of the current president of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili. And where do you think she orders it?

In general, “Radiocafe” is well worth your attention if you are looking for a restaurant with excellent cuisine and a cozy atmosphere to start your day in Tbilisi.

Erti kava

Erti kava – it’s a coffee shop chain, the first establishment of which opened in the high-mountainous Svaneti several years ago. Now it is a successful brand represented in major cities in Georgia and starting to develop international franchises. The prices here are not the lowest, but the amazing atmosphere and excellent coffee compensate for it.

There are several branches in Tbilisi. I go to the one near Rustaveli Avenue on Mitrofane Lagidze Street.

Vkusnoe kofe v Tbilisi

“Erti Kava” is known for its magnificent breakfasts. Avocado toast, buckwheat bowl, omelet and fish toast – each dish is tastier than the previous one. The portions are large, and the sauces are amazing. Pleasant music and responsive staff make the visit especially enjoyable.

I had breakfast there three times, and each time I tried something new. Everything without exception is good, but the banana pancakes are something incredible!

Of course, the coffee deserves special mention. The flat white is just amazing! Made with love and skill, it surprises with its rich and bright taste. For those looking for a drink without acidity, “Erti Kava” offers the perfect cappuccino with a delicate foam, the right temperature, and a wonderful balance.

Their Blue Latte is also worth a try. Although it has more milk than blue matcha, overall it is quite tasty and interesting in flavor.

All this makes “Erti Kava” a place you want to come back to again and again. What else do you need for happiness?

Breakfast is

A new but gaining popularity cafe specializing in breakfasts.

As soon as you enter “BREAKFAST IS,” you will be greeted by a cozy and friendly atmosphere. The establishment is decorated in a style that creates a comfortable and pleasant mood. The staff is always friendly and ready to help you with your choice.

The menu offers a wide selection of dishes. One of my favorites is shakshuka – eggs baked in tomato sauce with various spices. In addition, they have an excellent omelet and syrniki, which are also worth trying.

“BREAKFAST IS” offers various types of coffee with different milk options, including vegan alternatives.

Prices may be slightly higher than in other places, but the quality and taste of the food are definitely worth the money spent.

Kikliko

Kikliko is a cozy cafe in a quiet area of the city. Located far from the tourist center. But if you, for some reason, stay in Vake, then this is your option. Popular among my expat friends living in this area.

Kikliko

The atmosphere at Kikliko is very friendly and cozy. The cafe has both a hall and a courtyard surrounded by greenery, so you can choose where to sit depending on the weather and your preferences. In the summer, it can be hot inside, so having a veranda saves.

One of the most popular dishes at Kikliko is “grenki” (hence the name). They are prepared with various fillings and are a real find for breakfast lovers. The “grenki” here are prepared with special attention to detail and offer a variety of fillings that will satisfy any taste. I prefer them with cheese and ham and sweet ones with caramel.

Another popular dish at Kikliko is scrambled eggs with avocado. It stands out with a delicate combination of scrambled eggs and fresh avocado, creating the perfect balance of flavors.

Prices at Kikliko are quite reasonable, especially considering the quality and taste. Overall, I would recommend visiting Kikliko if you are looking for an authentic breakfast offering in Tbilisi.

Hurma

Here, you will immediately feel at home. One of the most popular breakfasts is coconut oatmeal. It’s prepared with love and care, and every spoonful fills you with energy for the whole day. I also recommend trying the omelet with tomatoes and cheese – it’s tender and aromatic. If you prefer something more hearty, be sure to taste the tuna pizza.

Hurma cafe Tbilisi

The service at Hurma deserves special praise. Orders are brought quickly and with a smile.

It’s important to note that the place is very popular, especially on weekdays, so it’s better to come early or reserve a table in advance. In good weather, you can also enjoy food outside.

Chaduna

Where to start: the most delicious avocado omelet that will give you a delicate texture and a harmonious combination of flavors. If you prefer sweet dishes, be sure to try the pancakes with honey, which just melt in your mouth. Chaduna is also famous for its syrniki, which are prepared according to a special recipe and served with exquisite jam.

The atmosphere at Chaduna is pleasant and cozy. Here, you can enjoy a pleasant interior and relax after a long walk around Tbilisi. I really like authentic restaurants decorated in an antique style from the 19th century, with retro items. This is one of those places.

It’s also nice to sit in the restaurant with a glass of wine in the evening. Then smoothly move across the street to one of the best bars in the old town – 41° Art of Drinks.

Entree

If I stay in the Chugureti area (Mardjanishvili metro), I go to Entree for breakfast.

The pastries here are a real hallmark. Delicious and unforgettable, especially the croissants with fillings. In addition to this, the menu offers excellent sandwiches, bowls, various salads, and much more.

Entree Tbilisi

The cafe is very popular and is often crowded, especially closer to 10 am – be prepared to wait. The hall is small (although they have larger branches), so a free table may be in short supply. Locals like to drop by for a quick lunch or take food with them.

Since there is a large flow here, don’t expect special attention. Essentially, it’s fast food. Tasty, but quickly grab a bite and continue strolling around the city. If you like to sit without hurry – choose another eatery.

There is a small veranda where you can enjoy fresh air while they prepare your omelet (by the way, they only make it until 11 am, just a heads up).

Entree vitrina bouli Entree sandvichi

I usually get a sandwich with salmon here (with black ciabatta – my favorite) and one of the five types of scrambled eggs.

Entree is a chain of establishments. The only Georgian catering chain that has entered the international market. There are branches in London and Baku. In Tbilisi, the network has expanded to 15 locations.
